Mortal Instruments: City of Fallen Angels – Book Review

Another book review! My second book for the month of November! I finished book 4 of the Mortal Instruments: City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare. I loved reading this book! I had many mixed feelings and thoughts on this book. This review may contain a few spoilers, so please read at your own discretion. I will try to keep the spoilers to a minimal, but sometimes spoilers are a must in a book review 🙂

‘Clary is back in New York and life is good: she’s training to be a Shadowhunter and is finally able to call Jace her boyfriend. But nothing comes without a price. When Jace inexplicably begins to pull away from her, Clary is forced to acknowledge that she herself has set in motion a chain of events that could lead to the loss of everything she loves. Even Jace.’

‘Love. Blood. Betrayal. Revenge. The stakes are higher than ever…’

Summary:

This fourth book in the Mortal Instruments series is about the issue of someone quite strong in power is murdering Shadowhunters that use to be apart of Valentines inner circle, which could cause another war for the Shadowhunters. Meanwhile, Simon has told his Mum that he is a Vampire, she did not take the news well however, and Simon has moved out of home to live with his new band member, Kyle, who happens to be a werewolf, hired to help Simon into the transition period of being a Vampire. Simon is also dealing with the issue that someone wants him dead, everywhere he goes people are jumping out of dark ally ways trying to kill him, all because of his misfortune to have the Mark of Cain, a Shadowhunter mark that is slowly ruining his life. He is also dating two girls at once, neither girl knows the other exists and then one night they discover each other and he is left standing single within the blink of an eye.

Clary and Jace are finally happily together, but the happiness is short lived when Jace starts to have dreams about Clary that turn into his worst nightmare; him killing Clary in horrible ways. Instead of him seeking help or talking to Clary he pulls away from her, too scared to tell anyone in fear that his up bringing with Valentine is finally catching up with him. Clary feeling like she’s losing the love of her life tries really hard to hold on to him by delving into the mystery, only to discover that she is the cause of these events that are taking place.

Both issues that Simon, Clary and Jace are dealing with end up in the event that Simon is kidnapped and Clary is also kidnapped by Jace who is being controlled by Lilith. Stirring up an issue that they never thought they would have to deal with again: Sebastian.

My Feelings and opinions:

This book put me through a whirlwind of emotions. The idea of Simon dating two people, made me so angry. I did not understand how this could occur and why he did not try to fix it. I was also quite confused on to why Clary did not push him more to fix this issue of dating two girls at once and thinking that he was going to get away with it if he kept hiding it from them. Clary, being Simon’s best friend should have been more serious with the topic with Simon.

another topic that I was really emotional about was when Jace told Clary about is dreams of killing and hurting her, why did she not freak out? Why did she still feel comfortable being around him in only her undergarments? I would have been freaking and wanting to run out that door if the love on my life told me that they were having dreams of hurting me or killing me. Maybe because in the real world not the fictional world, this is a sign of being a ‘bad’ and an ‘insane’ person.

I felt so sorry for Simon, how his whole life has been turned upside down and that was put into perspective quite a lot in this book. He’s out in the world on his own, trying to look after himself like an adult while still trying to finish school and trying to maintain human and adapting to being a Vampire. Simon is going through a lot in this book but he is still trying to look after everyone around him.

Cassandra Clare did a wonderful job in writing these characters personalities and portraying the struggles that each character would go through in every situation that they are in. This makes it so easily relatable because we all share the same emotions, it is how we are all connected, its so we understand each other; through our emotions.

My Rating:

I give this book 4 stars, I truly recommend reading this series if you like fantasy/young adult books, or if you just want to try something different. This series will give you so many emotions but you will also love it too!

Have you read the Mortal Instruments before? Or are you currently reading it? What are your thoughts on this series? 🙂

The Ultimate Harry Potter Tag!

I saw this amazing tag over on That weird brown girls blog and I just had to scope this one up since we are rivals 😛 Me being a Gryffindor and her being a Slytherin, it became a challenge for me to do this naturally 🙂

So thank you That weird brown girl for sharing this amazing tag with us! 🙂 If you aren’t following her you should definitely go check her blog out and give her a follow!

For those that have not finished reading the Harry Potter series or is currently reading the series for the first time, there may be spoilers!

So here we go, lets have some fun with this one!

1. Favourite book?

This is a hard one, because I like all the books. I think I would have to say that my favourite book would be maybe the third book because this is when Sirius black is introduced and he is one of my favourite characters so I am a bit biased in that area 😛 I think if I was not going to go by Sirius I would chose the Deathly Hollows because I think this book was just beautiful in so many ways but also sad. I do not have the words to explain my feels for this book.

2. Least favourite book?

The Chamber of Secrets, I found this one  little bit boring and irritating because Ginny as a character annoyed me a little bit… oops 😛 sorry everyone.

3. Favourite movie?

My favourite one would have to be The order of the Pheonix because it was just brilliant the way it was made and all the different story lines going on at once. You were never bored but at the same time its my least favourite because Sirius dies and Harry is so heart broken and destroyed at that moment in time.

4. Least favourite movie?

As stated above The Order of the Pheonix, but also The Chamber of Secrets, but this is because my younger brother use to watch it all the time and because Ginny annoyed me as a character in this movie.

5. Favourite quote?

Oh, this is hard, there is so many!!

I’m going to have to share a few! You asked for this guys! 🙂

‘You’re a wizard Harry’ – Rubeus Hagrid.

‘Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, If one only remembers to turn on the light’ – Albus Dumbledore.

‘For in Dreams we enter a world that is entirely our own. Let them swim in the deepest ocean or glide over the highest cloud.’ – Albus Dumbledore.

I keep reading these quotes and I can actually here the characters voices to each quote in my head perfectly! its so amazing! Does anyone else do this?

6. Favourite Weasley?

That’s easy. The Twins. Fred and George.

‘I’m only joking, I am Fred’

7. Favourite female character?

Mrs Weasley

8. Favourite villain?

Bellatrix Lestrange just because the faces she pulls makes me laugh so much. She really is a psycho path, it’s great! Well done to the actress that played this villain.

9. Favourite male character?

Hagrid! I love this guy.

10. Favourite professor?

Professor McGonagall

11. Would you rather a) wash Snape’s hair or b) spend a day listening to Lockhart rant about himself?

OMG who would even chose to do b! That guy annoyed me so much I wanted to smash my TV into pieces! He as so bad in the movie. I would by far chose to wash Snape’s hair!

12. Would you rather duel a) an elated Bellatrix or b) an angry Molly?

Definitely Bellatrix, because Molly is just one of those women you do not mess with, like EVER!!

13. Would you rather travel to Hogwarts using a) the Hogwarts Express or b) a flying car?

Definitely choose the Hogwarts express because hello! its the Hogwarts express and we do not want another incident with the flying car and the whomping willow!

14. Would you rather give a) Voldemort a kiss or b) Umbridge a bubble bath?

Give Umbridge a bubble bath, because I can kill her easily that way by drowning her, feeling her ‘bubble bath’ with acid. I’m not a psychopath I swear!

15. Would you rather fly a) a hippogriff or b) a Firebolt?

A hippogriff because who doesn’t want a beautiful majestic beast that hates Draco 😛

16. Is there a character you felt differently about in the movies?

Dumbledore, because I feel Dumbledore was not displayed correctly in the third movie on wards. I didn’t like the new actor for Dumbledore.

17. Is there a movie you preferred to the book?

I cant believe that this is even a question.

Books are way better!

18. Richard Harris or Michael Gambon as Dumbledore?

Richard Harris, RIP ❤

19. Your top thing that you wanted in the movie that wasn’t in there?

Oh, please don’t make me answer this one 😦

20. If you could remake any of the Harry Potter movies, which would it be?

I really do not know…this is hard…

21. Which house was your first gut feeling you’d be a part of?

Gryffindor all the way

22. Which house were you actually sorted into on Pottermore?

Do you even have to ask? Defs Gryffindor

23. Which class would be your favorite?

Defense against the dark arts 😛

24. Which spell do you think would be most useful to learn?

Defs expect Patronum

25. Which character do you think you’d instantly become friends with?

Ron, because he hates spiders like me 🙂 and he isn’t scared to say what he thinks.

26. If you could own one of the three Hallows, which would it be?

The Invisibility Cloak because then I could get up to all kinds of Mischief, who didn’t wish this was a thing that actually existed when they were a teenager?

27. Is there any aspect of the books you’d want to change?

nope, you cant change anything, however I wish Sirius Black didn’t have to die.

28. Favourite marauder?

Padfoot.

29. If you could bring one character back to life, which would it be?

Sirisus Black or Dobby!!

30. Hallows or Horcruxes?

What’s the point in being scared of dying that much that you have to separate yourself multiple times?… Hallows for the win because at least you will be having fun in life and not fearing it.

I really enjoyed participating in this, it makes me want to go read the book series again because it has been a while since I last read them!

I invite everyone who wishes to participate in this, if you do not want to blog this please feel free to share your thought with me in the comments! I look forward to hearing from you! 🙂

Infernal Devices: Clock Work Angel Book Review

Today I’m doing a book review on a book that I finished today, the 4th of November. After finishing my last University exam, I took it upon myself to finish this book: Clock Work Angel by Cassandra Clare, the first series in the Infernal Devices series.

I’m reading this series along with the Mortal Instrument series by publication date. I wrote a post on this as I have been told that the order in which you read this series is rather important if you want the true experience of these series: : Mortal Instruments and Infernal device order.

I had a lot of mixed emotions for this book, with it being my first time reading the Infernal Device series I wanted to write my review while it was all fresh in my mind. This review may contain spoilers so please read on at your own discretion.

‘Love is the most dangerous magic of all…

When Tessa Gray arrives in England during the reign of Queen Vitoria, something terrifying is waiting for her in London’s Down world, where vampires, warlocks and other supernatural folk stalk the gas lit streets. Friendless and hunted, Tessa seeks refuge with the Shadowhunters, a band of demon hunters. Drawn ever deeper into their world, she finds herself fascinated by – and torn between -two best friends.’

Summary:

This book tells the tale of a shy girl called Tessa who leaves New York to move to London to live with her Brother Nate after her Auntie Harriet the only family member she has left apart from Nate passed away suddenly. When Tessa arrives in London she finds that Nate is not there to meet her like his letter said he would, instead a carriage and two women are waiting, being told that her brother sent these two women to pick her up and after seeing a letter written in his hand writing that the women gave her explaining the change of plans trusts these women and go along with them. They introduce them selves as the Dark Sisters. The story is about how Tessa discovers that in fact she has been kidnapped and must do what she is told other wise her brother will be killed only to find out everything is a lie and she doesn’t know who she is anymore. She discovers the Nephilim world and the Downworlders actually exist. Her whole world is torn upside down and she must fight to stay alive but also discover who she can actually trust.

My feelings and opinions:

This is going to give away some spoilers, I’m sorry!

I found this book beautiful to read, but also quite emotional. Tessa goes through so much in this book, it surprises me that such a person would not just break down and cry or give up, especially after being tortured, discovering that she isn’t human but in fact a warlock as well as finding out her brother sold her to a guy for money and power. I feel like no person in real life could deal with this much hurt and not cry. I know I definitely would of had some issues after going through all this. But I think that this is what makes Tessa such a good character, she is an inspiration for readers. But at the same a bit relatable, especially the teasing that she gets from another female character in the book about her appearance, I got so angry and wished I could have punched this other girl for Tessa.

I was quite torn with the love triangle that occurred with Tessa, Jem and Will. I found that Will could be very sweet and caring when he wanted to but he was also that guy that would be far to complicated to date because he shut of his emotions and was always quite hurtful. I definitely shipped Tessa and Jem because they were just so cute together and understood each other on levels that Will and Tessa probably couldn’t. I feel that this is what makes the book so enjoyable to read because its so engaging, who is she going to chose in the end? it’s that feeling of please chose this guy….! And you end up shipping them completely and you know you will be really upset if it doesn’t happen by the end of the series. That’s what I am like with Tessa and Jem, I ship them completely. I’m completely in love with idea and I’m not even sorry!

Cassandra Clare writes characters are full of flaws yet still perfect in their own way in people’s eyes. Making the characters so relatable in their emotions and their personality’s that you cant help but feel a connection with one of more with the characters, making you feel like you are not a reader but in fact in this fantasy world yourself fighting along side the main character. I had a lot of trouble putting this book down even to sleep, my fiancé had to take it away from me because otherwise I would be staying up too late and I would not have been able to do my University exams.

I also loved the covers of these books, Cassandra Clare always seems to have beautifully designed book covers for her series.

Rating:

I give this book 4 stars, I truly recommend reading this series if you are a fan of the Mortal Instruments series, and if you aren’t, that is still okay, you can give this a chance if you like, I doubt you will regret it if you like a young adult fantasy book to bury yourself in for a day! 🙂

Have you read this book? What was your thoughts on this series? or is this on your TBR list? 😀

October Wrap up & November TBR

So having only been blogging for two weeks, this is my first Wrap up and TBR. It’s sad for me that my first wrap up post is not going to be massively big because October was very slow with reading, with University exams and major assignments being due I found it very difficult to read a lot, hopefully this month will be different. I was only able to read two books, even though I had planned to read a lot more, but we all know what a busy life style is like. So here we go, lets give this a go! 😀

14938053_205705079870042_524904218_n.png

I did spend a bit of money buying heaps of books 😀 Ready for when I have time to read!

Here is a list of book I bought in October that are yet to be read!

  • Stealing Snow by Danielle Paige
  • Me before you by Jojo Moyes
  • Miss Peregrines home for Peculiar Children By Ransom Riggs
  • Fifty shades of Grey by EL James
  • Fifty Shades of Darkness by EL James
  • Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Mass
  • Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Mass
  • Someday, Someday Maybe by Lauren Graham

I bought these books because I have heard so much about these books, both bad and good and I wanted to read them so that I could have an opinion of my own rather than be persuaded by others. You can’t let peoples bad reviews stop you from reading a book for yourself.

I’m quite excited to read Someday, Someday Maybe by Lauren Graham,  because she is one of my favourite actresses, for those who have seen Gilmore Girls, you will understand my love for this woman’s sarcastic wit 🙂

I also started buying books that I have already read, now that I have moved out of home ( I don’t live with my parents, I have the room to buy more books.

So here is a lost of Books I bought in October that I have already read throughout the year:

  • Dead until Dark by Charlaine Harries
  • The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
  • Twilight by Stephanie Myer
  • Eclipse by Stephanie Myer
  • Frost Bite by Richelle Mead
  • The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks

The two books that I was able to read in October were:

  1. City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare

th07WS2XSE.jpg

This is the second book in the Mortal Instruments series. I did not get to write a review on this because I didn’t start my blog until late October. But I loved this book just as much as I did the next book in this series. I’m looking forward to finishing this series this month. This book I have a rating of 4 stars, I would definitely read it again, I rated it a 4 because even though I loved this book so much there is a book series that I love more than this so I couldn’t rate it at a 5 stars. However, I do strongly recommend this series if you haven’t read it yet 🙂 book 1 is called city of bones.

2. City of Glass by Cassandra Clare

glassuk.jpg

This is the third book in the Mortal Instruments series. I wrote a review on this book which you can see here:https://oncemorewithfeelingweb.wordpress.com/2016/10/24/city-of-glass-review/ if you would like to know my thoughts on this book.

I have discovered a few tag that I would like to do for November:

  • The Ultimate Harry Potter Tag

Harry Potter and The Cursed Child Review

The Eighth Story. Nineteen years Later….

It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband, and father of three school-age children.

While Harry grapples with his past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes darkness comes from unexpected places.’

The above is the description written on the inside cover of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

July 21st 2007 was the day the last book of Harry Potter was released; Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows, the book we all wanted but were dreading at the same time. We didn’t want it to end! But when news got released that J.K Rowling was working with John Tiffany and Jack Thorne to release a script form of a new Harry Potter story that was set 19 years in the future all us Harry Potter fans could have died with happiness, it was a dream come true!

Everyone was racing in stores to pick up their copy of the new Harry Potter book. However, there has been some debate about the book as it was in script form not novel form. Before I start my thoughts on this new Harry Potter book, I must warn that there will be spoilers, so if you have not read it yet and don’t want spoilers, stop here! go pick up that book and come back. I don’t want anything ruined for you, but if you love some spoilers, then go right ahead and read what I’m about to say about this book.

Plot:

This book is set nineteen years in the future. Harry and Ginny marry and have 3 children; James Sirius Potter and Albus Severus Potter, Lily Luna Potter, while Ron and Hermione married and have two children; Rose Granger-Weasley and Hugo Granger-Weasley. Harry is the head of Law Enforcement at the Ministry of Magic, while Hermione is head of Ministry of Magic. Ron manages Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes.

This book focuses on Albus  and Rose’s first year at Hogwarts. While boarding the Hogwarts Express at Platform 9 3/4, Albus meets Scorpius Malfoy, Draco’s son. Albus and Scorpius are both placed in Slytherin House by the sorting house once reaching Hogwarts. This was somewhat of a shock to Rose as her family and Albus’ family are all from Gryffindor House. Albus struggles to fit in at Hogwarts, he feels there is reputation to live up to having his father being the famous Harry Potter, the boy who lived. Albus feels like he is nothing like his father after being placed into Slytherin instead of Gryffindor feeling like he is a disappointment to his father, putting a tremendous strain on his relationship with his father. Also putting a strain on his relationship with Rose because she becomes a popular student and joins the Gryffindor Quidditch team as a chaser.

In the mean time, Albus’ new best friend Scorpius is struggling with the death of his mother, Astoria dealing with the rumours that are spreading around the wizarding world that he is Voldemort’s son. This goes on for three years.

One Summer, an illegal Time-Turner is then confiscated by a death eater, causing the Ministry of Magic (Harry and Hermione) to look in recent activity that has occurred by Voldemort’s allies. During this series of events, they are found to be dealing with another matter at hand, involving Amos, Cedric Diggory’s father who turns up at Harry and Ginny’s house demanding Harry for the time-turner after hearing that the Ministry of Magic is in possession of one now. Amos wishes to use the time-turner so that he can go back in time to save his son with the support of his niece and caretaker, Delphi. However, Harry refuses to help Amos, in fear that it will change the future negatively. Albus, eavesdropping on the conversation is mad with his father for not helping Amos, and befriends Delphi.

Harry then tries to mend his relationship with Albus by trying to make a connection with him, through offering his old baby blanket to Albus. Albus refuses the give causing an argument causing a love potion to spill onto to the blanket accidently, both Harry and Albus end up telling each other that they wish they weren’t related, destroying what little bond they had left. Albus then leaves for his fourth year at Hogwarts while feeling hatred for his father. Albus and Scorpius take it upon themselves to then leave their journey to Hogwarts to steal the time-turner from the Ministry of Magic, against his Father’s wishes, as Albus blames Harry for Cedric death, so they head off to find Delphi to work along side them on their mission.

Harry starts to have nightmares about Voldemort, feeling pain in his scar, something that has not occurred since he defeated Voldemort 19 years ago. This causes Hermione, being the head of Ministry of Magic to hold a meeting concerning the possibility that Voldemort might be back. They do not get far with this, no one being convinced that there is a threat from Voldemort, Harry, Ginny and Draco soon find out that Albus and Scorpius are missing. They conclude that Albus ran away after the argument with his father, and Scorpius running away after being pulled into their family issues.

What they do not know though is that Delphi has helped Scorpius and Albus get into the Ministry of Magic, disguised as Harry , Ron and Hermione with the use of polyjuice potion allowing them to get the time-turner. Only to then end up on a whole new adventure where they change the past which ruins the future, trying to right their wrongs only to find out that Delphi isn’t who she says she is, she is Voldemort’s daughter. Starting a whole new journey for Albus and Scorpius which ends up allowing Albus and Scorpius to amend their relationships with their father.

I’m not going to add anymore about the plot because that will ruin the experience of reading the book yourself.

Overall:

I absolutely loved this book! I’m giving it 5 stars because it is one of my favourite books in the Harry Potter series which is in my top 5 favourite book series! I would recommend it to anyone! I got so much excitement and enjoyment while reading this book, however I would have to say that I’m a bit disappointed that this book will not be released in novel form or as a movie! I feel like there were a few unanswered questions, even though it answered some questions that I had at the end of the 7th book, it left me with new questions that remained unanswered but I feel that almost every book series does that intentionally, whether that’s because they want readers to interpret things themselves or its the authors way of keeping it open for if they decide that they want to write another book later on. This book was well written and was rather easy to read, which is the good quality about scripts, they flow easily. however I would love this in novel form because I know in novel form it would be written in a different way with more detail, it would possibly answer the questions that I have. However, this was still a really good book and I wouldn’t want anything to change about the script itself.

Reading Habits – Book tag

I’m doing this Reading Habits- Book tag, so that you can all get to know me a bit better as a reader! 🙂 I saw this over on between folded pages who invited anyone to participate in this book tag, you can follow them and read their tag here: https://betweenfoldedpages.wordpress.com/2016/07/05/reading-habits-tag/

So I thought that I should give this a go, because I quite like knowing the reading habits have and thought you all might like to know my reading habits, since I’m a bit of a book worm and have been since I was about 5.

  1. Do you have a certain place at home for reading?

I’ve been living out of home for the past 8 months now, so some of my reading habits have changed. I use to love reading in my parents lounge room by the fire place with a nice hot chocolate while my little brother came up to me to see what I was reading all the time, but now that I am being an adult and living out on my own, soon to move in with my fiancé, my favourite place to read is cuddled up in my bed next to my fiancé of a night time when all the house work and University work has been completed. There’s nothing better than being cuddled up with the one you love in a warm bed reading a book 🙂

2.  Bookmark or random piece of paper?

I love bookmarks, they are so beautiful. If I see one I love, ill buy it, or I’ll make one for myself. I hate using random pieces of paper, I always have to use a bookmark because then I feel like my book is being looked after and not associated with random old bites of paper that are probably laying around.

3. Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter or a certain amount of pages?

I really dislike stopping in the middle of a chapter, especially if something exciting is happening. If I really have to stop in the middle of a chapter I will but I will get right back to it! Most of the time, I’ll stop at the end of the chapter. One of the reasons I try to read of a night once everything is done is so that I do not have to stop half way through a chapter.

4. Do you eat or drink while reading?

I like to have a hot drink, or a nice cold drink if it’s summer, but I do not eat while I’m reading because I do not want to get the pages covered in finger prints from greasing fingers or crumbs on my books, I dislike my books getting dirty, so even with my drinks I am very  careful! I do not lend my books to people unless I trust them with my life because I am so worried that my books will get covered in food by people.

5. Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?

I do not play music or TV while I’m reading if its for me. But I got use to reading in my parents place with the TV going because of my disabled brother watching TV. I learnt to tune out noise. My fiancé is also usually playing games or having YouTube playing in the background, so I guess the TV is usually always playing, but it’s not something I put on for myself. When I am on my own (which is not often because I live with a housemate and my fiancé) I do not have any TV or music playing.

6. One book at a time or several?

I don’t like reading several books at once, being dyslexic I get confused and can not read several books at once. Instead I just read one book at a time but I’m a fast reader so it’s okay 🙂

7. Reading at home or everywhere?

I read everywhere, I take a book with me everywhere. There is always a book in my handbag. I  do not read on buses or cars though, I wish I could but I get car sickness if I’m reading. 😦

8. Reading out loud or silently in your head?

I read in my head, if I come across a part that I really like and want to share it, I’ll re-read that particular part out loud to my fiancé or who ever I am with at the time. But, generally I read silently in my head. Sometimes my little brother will sit with me when I am at my parents and I’ll read out loud to him for a little bit, which is cute 🙂

9. Do you read ahead or even skip pages?

No, I do not want to miss anything when I am reading a good book.

10. Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?

I can not bring myself to break the spine, I always have to keep my books like they are brand new!

11. Do you write in your books?

NO! I keep a note book next to me when I am reading and if I like something or want to take not of something I write it in my note book, I wouldn’t dare put a writing tool on my books.

12. Who do you tag?

I want to tag anyone that feels like participating in this tag!

What are your reading habits? please share! 🙂

Suddenly Penny is falling in love- and capturing every moment of it on her blog. But Noah has a secret too. One that threatens to ruin Penny’s cover – and her closest friendship – forever.’

  • Audience appeal (who would enjoy reading this book?)

Any one that loves a story about how a young teenage girl that’s trying to get through the high school drama scene, while being in love, being a blogger and suffering from anxiety. This story is basically a young adult love story that is set during the teen years. It is easily relatable so easily to get attached to! I got attached to this because I can relate so much to this. It is so well written and easy to read, you just fall in love easily. Its a book for all ages.

  • Your favourite line/scene

One of my favourite scenes in the book is when Penny is whisked away from a wedding reception by the mysterious Noah to the roof topic for a night picnic under the New York stars. I love this scene because Penny demonstrated all those feelings you have when you are first falling in love when you’re a teenager. Its just full of happiness, love, excitement, shyness, just everything that resembles those butterfly feelings you get when you first go on a date with the guy you have a crush on. I’m a sucker for the corny love scenes 🙂

Top 10 Tuesday

Today I am doing my first blog on Top 10 Tuesday which is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish: http://www.brokeandbookish.com/

This week the feature is; 10 Characters names you would name a child/pet/car etc after. This should be interesting and fun, so everyone give it a go!

  1. My first name is tricky because I would use this one to name a daughter or a really cute black kitten. This name is Lily, from the Harry Potter series by J.K Rowling. I’ve always loved this name, because it is such a sweet name that was given to a character that was full of love. I just Love it to bits!!
  2. I love the name Jace, this characters name is from the Mortal Instruments series written by Cassandra Clare. I love this name because it is just so different and it sounds really nice and modern. I would use this name for a son, especially if the son is the eldest sibling because I would like to think he would be the protector for his siblings and the ones he cares for like Jace does in Mortal Instruments.
  3. Clary, is my third name that I have picked, yes it’s from the same book series as the one above, The Mortal Instruments series. I would also name my daughter this name because I think it is just a beautiful name! It’s original and not boring. I’m a sucker for originality.
  4. Belle. I absolutely love this name! This is because it is from my favourite book and movie; Beauty and The Beast. This name is just sweet and has a nice soft vibe to it, I would use this name for a daughter.
  5. Dimitri, this is from another favourite book series: Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. I absolutely love the sound of this name, its just so original and sounds handsome. I know, how can a name sound handsome? 🙂 I would use this name for a son.
  6. Penny, I absolutely love this name. It’s from one of my top 5 book series; Girl Online by Zoe Sugg. I think this name is absolutely gorgeous and I would use it for a pet cat or rabbit.
  7. Charlotte, the name that is so well known from Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White. This was my one of my favourite go to books as a child and I think the name is pretty and wonderful. I would use it for a daughter.
  8. Cheshire, every one knows this name: Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. I love the sound of the name, however, I probably wouldn’t use this name for a cat, I would use it for a rabbit or guinea Pig instead! 🙂
  9. Buffy, I have already used this name, I used this name as a child to call my pet Guinea Pig. This is from the book series Buffy the Vampire Slayer by Mel Odom, Christopher Golden and Nancy Holden.
  10. Lissa, from Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. I would use this name for a daughter. 🙂

These are my top 10 favourite characters names that I would use to name a child or pet. Please feel free to join in by even writing your own on your blog, writing yours in the comments or just giving me your thoughts on names that you like, they do not have to be from books. 🙂 Just have some fun with it! 😀

Mortal Instruments and Infernal Device order

I’m currently reading The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare for the like 10th time! Because, HELLO! who doesn’t love this series!

However, I have not yet read the Infernal device series yet or Lady midnight which is the first book in the Dark artifices series by Cassandra Clare. My friend told me that to get the real experience there was a particular order to read all these books in because they all intertwine. So I went for a hunt, I found this websitehttp://shadowhunters.com/ it has everything you can think of when it comes to The Mortal Instruments series!

It advises the order to read the two series; The Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices as follows:

Read the First three books of Mortal Instruments:

  1. City of Bones
  2. City of Ashes
  3. City of Glass.

Read the First book of Infernal Devices:

  1.  Clock work Angel

Read book four of Mortal Instruments:

4. City of fallen Angels

Read book two of Infernal devices:

2. Clock work Prince

Read book 5 of Mortal Instruments:

5. City of Lost Souls

Read the last book to infernal devices:

3. Clockwork Princess

Read book 6 of Mortal Instruments:

6. City of Heavenly fire.

You can then head on to read The first book to the Dark Artifices series: Lady Midnight14686117_190981504675733_592452366_n.jpg

I have actually like the way this has been ordered, because it is actually in order of publication. I’m currently finishing the third book to the Mortal Instruments, ready to start book one in Infernal devices. I have not read the infernal devices yet so I’ll definitely be righting my opinion and view on the series when I finish reading them.

Has anyone else found this reading order helpful or have you read these differently?
